Vaccine advocates are troubled by misinformation about vaccine programs

Such a case may occur in one of about 50,000 doses of the AstraZeneca Covid vaccine. Some cases of these thrombosis can be serious. mRNA vaccines are based on a different vaccine technology to the AstraZeneca vaccine and are now commonly used in the UK. Although the AstraZeneca vaccine continues to be used worldwide.
Young men have a slightly increased risk of myocarditis after getting the mRNA vaccines (from Pfizer and Moderna). These cases are usually mild and patients recover quickly. However, the risk is higher in these situations with a Covid infection. A study had shown that the risk of myocarditis is higher after a Covid infection than after vaccination. Several studies have highlighted how the risk of thrombosis increases even after a mild COVID infection.
The side effects of vaccines are very unfortunate, and it is even more tragic when a life is lost. But the evidence shows that the benefits of vaccination far outweigh the risks. Misinformation: We see repeated human deaths or injuries being linked to COVID vaccines without any evidence. A recent example is American football player Damar Hamlin who collapsed on the field during a game. There is no evidence that the Covid vaccine had any side effects on them.
Bridgen’s comparison of the vaccination program to the Holocaust is not a new strategy. Inflammatory rhetoric is common in some anti-vaccine communities. Though most of us queue up for our Covid vaccine, or take our kids for their routine vaccinations. Their belief in vaccination programs is important. What about compensation? Many countries, including the UK, have compensation schemes for people who have suffered injuries or side-effects suspected to be caused by vaccination. Compensation programs are important. Such programs should be transparent and clear. But at the same time, misinformation and inflammatory rhetoric from the anti-vaccine community is troubling those who stand in favor of the vaccination program.
