More than one lakh bookings done last year

With this the government rest house became accessible to the general public. After this, between April 1, 2022 and March 31, 2023, a total of 1.08 lakh bookings were registered in it. This shows a 57 per cent increase in bookings over last year.
Improvements are being made by asking the public
Riyas says that some necessary improvements are also being made in PWD rest houses. Feedback is being taken from the common people as to whether the facilities should be increased there or what should be the standard of hospitality there. Accordingly, it is also being improved. He has also thanked the public for supporting the rebranding initiative by sharing their ideas and suggestions to make it a huge success.
Where are the rest houses hit
During the last financial year, the rest houses at Thycaud in Trivandrum and the rest houses at Kozhikode and Munnar were well received by the tourists. The bookings there were top notch. In the last 18 months, revenue from rest houses in Munnar and Alappuzha, both major tourist destinations in Kerala, has increased three-fold. Alappuzha, Kottayam, Thrissur and Thalassery also registered a sharp increase in both revenue and bookings.
