Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and President, met with delegates attending the 10th World Overseas Chinese Associations Meeting at the Beijing Great Hall on the morning of May 8. He extended warm greetings to overseas Chinese around the world on the occasion. Xi Taifang, a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of the United Front Department of the CPC Central Committee, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the meeting that day.
