Pakistan’s caretaker prime minister has appointed a new cabinet ahead of national elections due in early November, GEO News reported on Thursday.

Information technology expert Umar Saif and journalist Murtaza Solangi are among the names added to the caretaker cabinet, sources said. They will be given the IT and Information ministries respectively.

Who is Mushal Hussain?

Yasin Malik’s wife Mushal Hussain was born in Pakistan. His father was an internationally renowned economist. While the mother has been a former general secretary of the women’s wing of the Pakistan Muslim League. Mushal’s brother-in-law Haider Ali Malik is a foreign policy scholar and professor in the US.

Yasin is serving life sentence

Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik is currently lodged in Tihar Jail. Rubaiya Sayeed, sister of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairperson Mehbooba Mufti and daughter of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, was abducted by JKLF terrorists on December 8, 1989. Yasin Malik, who is serving life sentence in Tihar Jail in terror funding case, is an accused in the case along with others. Expressing displeasure over the recent personal appearance of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik, the Supreme Court questioned why he was brought to the court when no such order was passed.
