Actually, many times the company misdelivers the order due to some reason. The company sometimes changes the order, but sometimes the order is not even changed. But making a similar mistake this time has cost Zomato and McDonald’s dearly. Due to this mistake, the consumer court has imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on Zomato and fast food restaurant McDonald’s. Zomato itself has given this information.

According to the information, District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum of Jodhpur has imposed a huge fine on Zomato and McDonald’s. Zomato told the stock market that the company is now preparing to file an appeal against the order of the Jodhpur court. Zomato informed the stock market on Friday that the company will file an appeal against the order.

In this matter, the company says that the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum (II) Jodhpur has imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on Zomato and restaurant partner McDonald’s for violation of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 as cost of the case. This order was delivered through McDonald’s. The consumer court said that the monetary penalty and the cost of the litigation have to be jointly paid by Zomato and McDonald’s.

Zomato said it is in the process of filing an appeal against the order on the advice of lawyers. The company said, “The present matter pertains to alleged wrong delivery of non-vegetarian food instead of vegetarian food.” According to Zomato, the terms of service that govern the relationship between customers and the company make it clear that (Zomato) is only a facilitating platform for the sale of food items. The Restaurant Partner is responsible for any deficiency in service, wrong delivery of the order and quality.
