An anti-terrorism court in Pakistan on Tuesday issued non-bailable arrest warrant against Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and other leaders of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party in a case related to the violence on May 9 last year. Did it.

Rawalpindi-based anti-terrorism court judge Malik Ijaz Asif acted on the basis of a case filed against Gandapur and ordered officials to produce the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister along with others before the court on April 2.

Violent protests broke out on May 9 after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party chief Khan was arrested by paramilitary Rangers from the premises of the Islamabad High Court in an alleged corruption case. Arrest warrants were issued for other PTI leaders. Those arrested include Murad Saeed, Shibli Faraz, Shahbaz Gill, retired Lieutenant Colonel Shabbir Awan, Shireen Mazari, Mussarat Jamshed Cheema and Saad Jameel Abbasi.
