Zardari is accused of influencing officials concerned to issue loans to some of his big companies during his previous tenure as President from 2008 to 2013.

Lawyers for Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari said on Tuesday that Zardari will get special immunity in a corruption case while in office. This corruption case is commonly known as Park Lane.

Zardari is accused of influencing officials to issue loans to major companies. Islamabad accountability court judge Nasir Javed Rana heard the Park Lane case.

Zardari is accused of influencing officials concerned to issue loans to some of his big companies during his previous tenure as President from 2008 to 2013.

Zardari’s lawyers argued during the hearing that after becoming the President, the immunity given to him in court cases applies to him and now no trial can continue against him. Zardari was elected President of Pakistan for the second time on March 9.
