On the other hand, the United Nations Security Council has called an emergency meeting at 4 pm on Sunday regarding the continuously worsening situation after Iran’s attack on Israel.
Iran launched massive drone and missile attacks on Israel, 1800 km away, on Sunday morning. This is being said to be a retaliatory action after the attack on Iran’s Consulate in Syria. According to Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), this is a targeted attack.
It is noteworthy that after the attack on the Consulate in Syria on April 1, Iran had talked about revenge. Seven army officers including a top army commander were killed in the attack. Iran had blamed Israel for the attack.
On the other hand, Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have said that more than 100 drones have been released and all the attacks are being stopped. Israel, Lebanon and Iraq have closed their airspace. Whereas Syria and Jordan have put their air defense systems on alert.
The Prime Minister of Israel has called a meeting of the War Cabinet. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that his country is ready for any situation, whether defensive or offensive. Netanyahu said that along with America, he appreciates Britain, France and many other countries for supporting us.
On Iran’s attack on Israel, US National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson said that President Biden is determined to protect Israel. He said that America always stands with the people of Israel. The US President held an emergency meeting at the White House on this issue.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has also condemned Iran’s attacks, saying that Britain will stand for the security of Israel and all its regional partners.
