One person was killed and 14 others were injured in a bomb blast in Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province. Officials gave this information on Saturday. He said that the team of Mari Petroleum Company was conducting survey to search for gas in the area in Harnai district when the improvised explosive device (IED) blast occurred.

Harnai Deputy Commissioner Javed Domki confirmed the blast and said that one person died and 14 others were injured in the incident. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, but Baloch extremists have often targeted government facilities due to the ongoing ethnic conflict in the province.

Baloch militants accuse the federal government of exploiting the province’s mineral wealth. Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti condemned the attack and directed officials to provide all necessary medical aid to the injured.
