Islamabad, March 24 (HS). Pakistan has indicated to resume trade relations with India. Pakistan Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar expressed willingness to seriously consider resumption of trade relations with India.
According to Geo News, during a press conference in London after the Nuclear Energy Summit, Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan’s business community is eager to resume trade activities with India. Pakistan will seriously consider reviving trade relations with India. Dar said that we will sit with all the stakeholders and see what can be done regarding economic activities and trade.
It is noteworthy that after India abrogated Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan had decided to unilaterally stop trade relations. Pakistan demanded the reinstatement of Article 370, which was rejected outright by India.
The two countries agreed to renew the 2003 ceasefire agreement along the Line of Control in February 2021, despite the tensions it has brought between the two countries.
