Yoon and his wife Kim Keon were presented a guard of honor by the military upon their arrival. A military band played the South Korean and UAE national anthems. After the ceremony, South Korea’s Yonhap news agency quoted Sheikh Mohammed as saying that the UAE planned to invest $30 billion in South Korea. “We have decided to invest with confidence in the Republic of Korea, which keeps its promise under all circumstances,” he said. Kim Sung-han, director of national security affairs in Yoon’s government, said: Will strengthen strategic cooperation with our friendly country UAE in the four core areas of nuclear power, energy, investment and defense. ”On Saturday, Yonhap agency also quoted an unnamed official of the President’s Office as saying that the arms agreement has been planned. “The environment is very sensible for security or military cooperation between South Korea and the UAE, which are involved in the arms industry,” said an official.
