Strong attack on China, Pakistan in Quad meeting today at G-20 Foreign Ministers’ Conference

New Delhi: A day after the G-20 foreign ministers’ conference, a ministerial meeting of the Quadrilateral Alliance (Quad) of the US, India, Australia and Japan took place here today, in which China and Pakistan were strongly warned against terrorism and illegal activities in the Indo-Pacific region. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Yong and Deputy Foreign Minister Kenji Yamada attended the quad meeting chaired by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. A joint statement was issued after the meeting.
Our meeting today reaffirms the Quad’s firm commitment to support a free and open Indo-Pacific region that is inclusive and resilient, the 18-point statement said. We strongly support the principles of independence, rule of law, sovereignty and territorial integrity and freedom of navigation and over flight, peaceful settlement of disputes without threat or use of force and oppose any unilateral attempt to change the status quo which are essential for peace, stability and prosperity in the entire Indo-Pacific region and other regions.
